About
My name is Gillian. I was born and raised in Nova Scotia, Canada and have the accent to prove it. In the past eight years I’ve lived in West Africa, the Caribbean, Mexico, the US, all over Canada and travelled through Europe three separate times. I loved my life as a vagabond, but am excited about the future. Mostly. It’s a hard lifestyle to give up.
I got engaged to a wonderful man named Clive in February 2006, and we purposely got knocked up at the end of that year. I’m due to have a healthy boy in mid-September 2007. This blog is my only method of documenting my pregnancy, developmental milestones of the child and my experiences as a first-time mom. My family reads it, so sex-talk is minimal, but I share basically everything else.
We’re currently living in Nova Scotia after moving here from Ontario. It’s great, great, great to be near my family.
We plan on traveling again after a year in NS (I’d love to take my baby to Africa), but if that doesn’t work out, I’d be just as happy living in a big farmhouse somewhere near the ocean.
I believe in cloth diapering, breastfeeding for at least two years, attachment parenting (including co-sleeping), elimination communication, my vegetarian pregnancy and bringing up my child vegetarian.
