At one point I found the baby’s kicks annoying. I have actually walked around my old workplace in order to get him to go to sleep so that I wouldn’t have to feel the punch-punch-kick-kick movements. I felt guilty, of course, because it’s never too early for momguilt, but sometimes I just wanted to […]

The worst thing about documenting pregnancy online (see my Flickr sets) are all the freaks that come out of the woodwork! They totally creep me out! Most of the people who add me as a contact either don’t have images available to me or they’re people who post voyeur images of boobs or whatever. […]

1. What do the baby kicks feel like?
The best way I can describe the small movements is by comparing it to eating a lot of beans and having gas bubbles move around your intestines OR an involuntary muscle twitch. You know when you’re just sitting there, and suddenly a muscle on your leg will start […]

“So, when are you due?”
“Do you know what it is?”
“Do you have any names picked out?”
These questions are asked to me several times a week. I expected them, and actually expected them to happen a lot more than they do. I was asked by a friend the other day if strangers come up to […]

I’m still feeling phenomenal. I’m just waiting to wake up with:
a) nausea
b) baby feet in ribs
c) pelvic pain
d) extreme fatigue
e) heartburn so bad I can’t eat
f) the hunger of three grown men
g) mood swings
h) a belly that has tripled in size
i) no clothing that fits
j) hemorrhoids
k) constipation
l) 40lb weight gain
m) GG boobs
I’m definitely in the Honeymoon Phase. I am certain of this because I am already thinking […]

Reading Frema’s blog this morning I was reminded of how I told my employers that I was pregnant. It’s a bit embarrassing…
Every Friday the IT group of which I am a part of has a meeting to talk about the week’s events. One of the issues that was brought up was the fact that […]

The sunshine seems to have brought out the creeps! Walking downtown today, a skinny white guy without a shirt on, riding a bike, said slowly, “There’s nothing more beautiful than a pregnant woman” as he moved his eyes up and down my body.
UGH. I’d be flattered if he wasn’t so creepy!

Yesterday at Wal*Mart I had a woman come up to me and tell me that I had beautiful skin and that I looked amazing pregnant. Then she commented that I was blushing- I’ve heard that women glow when they’re in their second trimester, but I didn’t think I would, and she embarrassed me in a […]

Weirdest thing heard thus far about being pregnant:
“For the sake of the baby, I recommend you eat a burger.”
–Wal-Mart Pharmacist, after being asked if there’s a multivitamin on the market that I won’t violently throw up an hour later.
She told me it was the iron in them that upsets the stomach, and that […]
