Last night Ash slept from 12am-5am without a nursing break. Part of me thinks I actually sleep better when it’s chopped up because I woke up super dizzy that didn’t go away for a couple of hours. I’m so used to having a choppy sleep that I don’t even care. Some moms read book […]

Last night’s sleep went like this:
6:45pm: Ash goes to sleep after being swaddled and nursed
7:30-11:30pm: Ash wakes about three times, due to gas. He is burped and the soother is put back into his mouth. He’s awake for less than five minutes each time.
11:30pm: I come to bed. Ash is unswaddled and I’m relieved of […]

Ash’s sleeping schedule has been the following for the past month or so:
7-11pm: a very restless sleep until I join him
11pm: nurse
2am: nurse
4am: nurse
6-6:30am: nurse
6:30-7:30 or 8am: VERY restless sleep or we wake up for 45 min and read/play and then go back to sleep for 45-60 min.
8:00: goes to papa for 30 min so […]

I was THRILLED to see this on babycenter.com this morning:

At three months (and probably since two months) Ash has been going to bed at around 7:30pm, waking up twice (usually when his soother falls out) about 45 minutes after he initally falls asleep, and then staying asleep for about five hours. I try to nurse him when I come to bed at 11pm, […]

May I, just for a minute, sing the praises of cosleeping? When I first got pregnant I knew very little about parenting methods, and immediately figured that I’d be using a crib. Thanks to a few ladies on BME, I am a completely different mom than I pictured myself being. Sleeping with my baby beside […]

Sorry, The New Girl, you’re off my list of links with your choice to CIO. Cry it out. Letting your baby cry her head off for close to an hour so, god forbid, you won’t have to nurse every 1.5 hours in the night?
It’s just something I’m so against, I can’t possibly link you […]

I’m tempted not to discuss this for fear of tempting the Sleep Gods, but here it goes:
Sleep, for the past couple of weeks, has been WONDERFUL!
I figured out that Ash liked to sleep on top of me at night, and when he did, he’d sleep in four hour stretches! Sometimes his waking period would be […]

Family beds are the way to go! Last night we slept for nearly twelve hours (in 3-4 hour incriments) with only short breaks in between we learned how to properly breastfeed so that he stays full for longer. The first few days I’d get have to get up to nurse nearly every hour. It was […]
